My Bio

I'm a devoted artist with Asperger's who balances between hobbies and work

It's a funny story about what my goals used to be: Before, I unrealistically believed that I'd receive fame and fortune in an instant with no planning whatsoever, and being able to run an international tech corporation called GMXT Industries, otherwise known as Greg Marshall's Xcellent Technologies. Finally, years later, my dad helped me change that idea and thus my current creative works began.

Aside from typing stories, I also draw and color pictures to follow alongside them. I excel in perspective and intricate (sometimes too intricate) detail on machines and backgrounds. Painting is a bit harder for me, but doing outlines on the canvas to start it off helps. Recently, I've even done videos on YouTube, though mainly I do that as a means to demonstrate my knack for identifying parallels in most everything, Copyright or no Copyright.

My hobbies mainly center around the computer, which is the source of all this stuff, of course. I draw my lineart on paper, then digitally color it in Photoshop CS5.

The Autism has led to a long list of obsessions from a lot of computer games and tv shows. Interestingly, they all involved some form of technology. Safecracker because I liked to study the puzzles, Star Wars because I started liking robots, OBSIDIAN because of the machinery, and so on and so on.

My main output for these skills has been for the development of my very own indie adventure game, called "Sanctuary", which you can follow at my dev blog below.

I think it's time I came clean with how I am as a writer. With Autism and ADHD, I find it difficult to write truly emotional scenes, especially regarding seeing things from multiple characters' perspectives. Many of you have probably noticed how...sterile, mechanical, or if nothing else, highly detailed my writing is. To explain why that is, I'll break it down into two factors: 1. It was born largely in 2007, in junior high. There, in Language Arts, I was persuaded by several teachers to write essays in a highly specific way. - You could not use "weak" verbs. As their mnemonics put it, "'WENT' and 'SAID' are dead! 'PUT' and 'GOT' are shot!" - In their place, you had a whole list of alternative "stronger" words, (quip, drone, declare, etc.) Course they didn't tell you which words were meant for what phrases. - Every single essay had to be written in present tense, not past tense. I suspect in hindsight that all that was because of the standardized essay test that semester. But since I didn't know that at the time, I believed that all this was how ALL literature should be written. It took a few years to wear off, but some elements still remain. 2. As some may have noticed, I'm better at delivering descriptions than human interactions. I can analyze and describe every little detail I see, especially when it comes to PC games and tech. But I've yet to grasp how to pace myself on and actually let the characters do the thinking. In other words, I'm on the edge of that kind of fan who spoils everything about a movie before his friend watches it. Instead of letting the viewer put together on their own. This part is more down to mental health issues. All in all, I hope my work has improved over the years, because I think my skill's grown rusty due to lack of regular work.

Contracted a crippling stomach virus the other day. Odds of working on anything are low.
