Creativity in Isolation

In these strange times, I pray that you and your family are safe. The cultural and creative sectors are among the most affected by the current crisis. As an artist, I believe I have a social responsibility to bring people together. Even when art centers are closed, the demand for art is stronger than ever. Since the pandemic hit, visits to online galleries have skyrocketed, with people seemingly seeking solace in art and creativity. There’s been this hunger since we’ve all been locked down. Parents and their children are also making artwork full of positivity and hope. Art gives us access to a world that’s bigger than us – That sense of hope is so important. The arts are a positive force for our community, especially in turbulent times. With a possible vaccine on the horizon, I look forward to working with you all in this new era of shared adversity and hope.
