Description

Kingfisher is seen at a station stop on the Southern Region leading the Locomotive Club Of Great Britain's "A4 Commemorative Rail Tour" in June 1966, an event organized to gain funding for Sir Nigel Gresley's overhaul. In that event, Miles Beavor became a hanger queen for 60007. At the end of the event, Kingfisher would go back to her home shed of Aberdeen Ferryhill, running till the end of the summer and going out one final time in late September 1966 on an 8:25 morning express service before being stored for 4 months. Scrapping was in January 1967, being the last Gresley Pacific to be junked and the last forme of prewar LNER top link motive power to go.
