Exodus Chapter 2 by AllAiAlways on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

In Egypt's land, a baby boy was born,
A child of destiny, predestined morn,
His mother hid him, with love so deep,
She placed him in the river, to safely keep.
The princess of Egypt, by the river's side,
Discovered the baby, with fate's sweet tide,
She took him as her own, with tender care,
And named him Moses, a future rare.
He grew up strong, in Pharaoh's court,
But never forgot his people's plight, aught,
He witnessed their suffering, their pain and woe,
His heart was stirred, with justice's glow.
One day, he saw an Egyptian smite,
An Israelite brother, in cruel sight,
With righteous anger, he struck the blow,
And buried the body, in sand below.
But news spread fast, the Pharaoh heard,
And Moses fled, without a word,
He found a home, in Midian's land,
With Zipporah's love, a guiding hand.
He tended sheep, on desert wide,
He learned of God, in solitude's tide,
And God appeared, in burning flame,
Commissioning Moses, with a holy aim.
To free his people, from bondage dire,
To lead them out, with God's own fire,
Moses returned, with staff in hand,
To confront Pharaoh, and take a stand.
Exodus Chapter 2, a story of birth,
Of God's chosen one, with destiny's worth,
With courage and faith, Moses would rise,
To fulfill his calling, beneath the skies.
