Articulated Watch Parts Creature "Greeper"
created January 25, 2018

Greeper is a fully articulated and poseable imaginary creature sculpture made completely from recycled watch parts. He has been soldered together with lead free, silver bearing solder.

Greeper features a neck that rotates, swivels and tilts, shoulders that swivel, rotate, and tilt, elbows and wrists that swivel and rotate, as well as knees, ankles, and hips that rotate and tilt. He is also able to swivel at his hips and his hands have a grasping, simian grip.

Greeper's outer skin and head are made with watch dials that have been cut and sanded to shape. His interior skeleton is made with many different watch parts. Bones are watch spring bars connected to various wheels and cogs. He has a spine made from watch gears, and 'organs' of watch gears and plates. All of his joints were made with cut spring bars that have been soldered into moveable joints with different axes of twist. Fingers and toes are winding stems.

This sculpture has taken around 40 hours of intricate work to complete.

Greeper stands about 70mm tall.
