"Wjat's a matter, janky? Jou looj like you've sjeen sjomething scary. Ha ha ha, jet's wjat's jza matter? Be happy njot scajred."

Whatever it was, whatever it had been, rightly didn't matter. "Look, I'm no priest and I'm no saint. Personally, this is a load of bullshit. A bunch of tricks and nonsense. You're high on some new high-tech nano-based digital drug and you're drifting between higher and lower dimensions."

"Sjoy sjoy, youj think youj know jit all, wur wur wur. We are Legjion, we are manjy."

"Yeah, yeah, I can quote the Bible too, uh, shut your mouth before I smite your ass, sayeth the Lord." He laid two black and white photos on the table between them, young girls, six and eight, each one sporting black eyes and bloody noses. "No time for good cop, bad cop, yadda-yadda cop. Where are these girls?"

Whatever it was peered at him with steely red eyes, muted luminscence akin to smouldering coals, drifting in and out of the digital superhighway and reappearing in current space-time as an ethereal fog of nano-particles, mere microns across but together they could form almost anything. If you wanted to appear as a a fucking demon from hell, it'd do the trick for your warped imaginations, all that and a host of other perversions with a list as long as the cop's right arm. "Wurr, djo youj think they are with the living? They'jre wijj da DEAD."

Without a word, he rammed an extension cord into the motherfucker's leg and twisted it around, untold volts coursing through, disrupting the nano-particles and sending the addict into terrifying convulsions of pain. The officer felt not one ounce of pity, his upper lip twitching in mild satisfaction. "For your sake, shit for brains," he whispered as the nanites lashed out only to be deflected by his personal shields, "you better be lying like Judas after the hanging."

"Youj think thijs all science? Hurr wurr, we are Legjion, we use nanite particle technology to bridge the gapj betwixt djimensjions - betwixt hell and earjth, wurr." It leaned forward, those red eyes suddenly flashing with the brilliance of rubies. "Youj no beliejve nowj? Youj will soon. Youj will soon..."
