Description

The Snallygaster is an north American Cryptid, from Frederick Country, Maryland.
It is described as a fearsome bird-reptile like creature, with a beak hard as steel filled with razor-sharp teeth and a single glowing eye.
It has its origins in the tales of German immigrants, who knew it under the name "Schneller Geist", quick ghost.

In the early 1900s a newspaper published sensational articles about a series of attacks on locals, apparently by the Snallygaster. Those caused a nationwide attention and a few hunts where organised.

Those articles later turned out to be a hoax to boost newspaper sales.
