Lutharix are about 9-12 ft long from head to tail. Their skin is smooth. They have six eyes, three on either side, that lack whites. On either side of the head are fringed frills that have a stiff, chalky texture. These frills are also on the very tip of the tail, fringed and sharp and used as means of defense, and also along the elbows of the front legs.

Lutharix have feelers, most commonly located around the neck and the base of the rump. These are retractable. Since feelers are very sensitive, Lutharix will keep them retracted most of the time. Whenever they are out, they emit a faint glow and tend to have healing properties. You can tell where a Lutharix's feelers are located by the small cross shape pattern that they retract into.

It is noticeable that all Lutharix have dark indents from the base of their throat down their neck, along the stomach, and to about halfway alongside the underpart of the tail. Within these indents are a pearl-like gem that glows whenever the feelers are out. The pearls are high in nutrient and are shed every 3 months.

They do not have nostrils, and seem to lack teeth aside from the sharp fangs on the top jaw. Lutharix's muzzle is more like a beak, and the tip is sharp.

They have three toes on all feet, tipped with sharp claws. On the hind feet are an extra claw, which are noticeably larger then the rest and used for hunting & combat.

Females tend to only lay a single egg in the breeding season, making them very rare. However, they have no natural predators, so their numbers are slowly gathering.

Average lifespan (in the wild) is 20-50 years.
