The Convergence of Var-Thanis

(where roots become color, and the sky bends down to touch it—)

It—**grows**

(not upward, but outward—)

not downward

(no, not downward—)

the trees—oh, they bend,

but they do not fall.

(they twist—twist—)

into the colors—

into veins of light

and root in sky—

_the sky!_—

(but not sky—no, not sky—)

it fills

spreads—

curls— (not smoke)

**but more—

more than smoke—**

more than cloud—

the color creeps—

(oh, how it creeps—)

**filling—folding—

filling—folding—**

**all the way—

all the way up.**

and the trees?

they do not mind—

(they twist—twist—)

and curl—and breathe,

breathe in the colors now—

(for the sky, not sky, is color—)

and the roots are color

and the branches—

are light

_(we are part—part of it)_—

and we grow

(oh, how we grow—how we twist—)

into the sky, into the color,

into the smoke

(but not smoke—)

but sky—

but land—

but life—

and all is one, now—

(for the trees have veins of flame—)

**and the sky has roots—

and the roots are light—**

(and it grows—oh, it grows—)

(and all is well—)

and all is gone—

(but still it grows—)
