Chief Navigator
Birthplace: Edos
Species: Edosian

Arex is the Chief Navigator of the USS Saratoga which Kirk commands in my AU Abramsverse New Start’ series.
Those who are fans of the Prime verse may also recognize him as Navigator officer aboard the Star Trek Animated Series.

HISTORY Most Edosians don’t leave their homeworld but Arex always knew that he would be one of the few who did.He never attended Starfleet Academy but instead became a crewmember on a merchant ship.
He earned a field commission after the ship was attacked by Klingons and all the officers aboard were killed.

Later he spent several years teaching navigation at Starfleet Academy, where he served as an instructor Pavel Chekov
He eventually became Chief Navigator of the USS Saratoga

SKILLS
Arex is a highly skilled navigator and in an emergency can operate both helm and navigation by himself.
He has quick reflexes and can move with great speed.

PERSONALITY Arex is's thoughtful, efficient and given to long silences but always willing to listen.

As well as navigation he also has an interest in stellar sciences.
He's a skilled lute player and good at sleight of hand tracks
