Here's an art commissioned by a client who want his character designed from Hero Forge to become alive in a digital painting. When the client sent me the description of his character - one thought came to mind: "Oh, like the shaman king anime". I thought of like, Amidamaru but his oni was armored gaseous form-like. And then the client also brought up Ghost of Tsushima. Okay so - this is so japanese-inspired character - which i really love to draw too!

At first, it was only the character with the background - which was floating island. Then I gave the 4 undead warriors to match the character pose. I thought a battle scene would be nice - to give the reason why is his Oni summoned. It was like the main character ventured into the woods (bamboo forest) then encountered the undead samurais.

The armor was my own design (inspired from the hero forge character) except for the Hat and weapons which were pre-defined by the client. And yes, Eastern aesthetics is really difficult - very detailed from threads to pads to cloth.

Overall, I enjoyed the painting process specially adding the dappled lights and studying which objects should be lit and not. Amazing experience and surely the artwork helped me improve my skills.
