EDIT NOV 2008 : I have just watched 'Stardust' again and this row of houses is indeed where Tristan Thorn lives in the village of Wall 
Arlington Row in the Heart of the Cotswalds, England.
A row of ancient 17th centuary Weaver's Cottages, now in the hands of the National Trust.
