The black and white picture I first saw in a Science Fiction coffee table book, I had in the late 70's, and the colour picture I found in more recent years on the internet. As soon as I saw it, I thought, I know that picture and yet I don't. I thought I'd put them together, because I've never seen them together on the net, for comparison. Does anyone know the story behind these two pieces of Sci Fi art? I get the feeling the black and white one came first. Is it the same artist rehashing his old work? A rip off? Or something else? Who is/are the artist/s?

I prefer the black and white one, great ink work and just overall better.
