Hello and welcome to my dA account!
I am AustinSPTD1996, but I prefer to be addressed as Austin -- my first name. I reside in the outskirts of Canby, Oregon, and I have been a member of the DeviantArt community since December of 2015. I am a Portland State University graduate, having earned a bachelor's in biology with a minor in environmental science. While my degree may be in a scientific field, I do have a bit of a creative side and interest in art.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I was eight years old, I've been passionate about zoology and, over the years, I've grown increasingly passionate about wildlife conservation. I would watch documentaries on Animal Planet for countless hours (especially Animal Planet's: The Most Extreme, which was my favorite of the bunch), memorizing the contents and reciting what I heard to my peers. My dream job is becoming the director for the Oregon Zoo in Portland -- the very place that got my interests sparked since I first visited in kindergarten. While I haven't yet had much luck finding work in the relevant fields, my love for wildlife and the zoo still burn bright. I routinely release various pieces aiming to spread awareness on various endangered species, as well as some more for-fun pieces like collages for the birthdays of Oregon Zoo residents. While some feature images I come across on the internet, others showcase figurines or plushes I've gotten from the zoo as souvenirs over the years. Whatever the medium, I'm always eager to share the knowledge of animals I've come across in my zoological pursuits and how we can better-help wildlife in our lives.
But that's not all. I'm also a devoted Oregonian, having love for every corner of the state -- from the beaches and forests in the west to the canyons and deserts in the east, and everything in between. A personal goal of mine is to pay at least one visit to all 36 counties in Oregon. In the last few years, I've taken to photographing various places I've visited across my state to share with you guys. Whether it's just my own backyard, various cities, or state or national recreation sites, I'm always happy to share a good word on the many sites the Beaver State has to behold. In addition to photographs of places, I'm also happy to make more intricate pieces. I've made various pieces showcasing various Oregon state symbols, and I love to go all-out in making illustrious birthday pieces to display my appreciation, including collages like the one above. I'm always happy to share my love of Oregon with my peers.
And now for a part you may be more interested in. In addition to zoology and Oregon, I do have a soft spot for animated media. While my list is more or less flexible and expanding, I tend to focus mostly on movies and TV shows from the 1990s and 2000s. As evidenced in this fandom button collage I have referenced above, some of my fandoms include Total Drama, Ice Age, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Danny Phantom, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Invader Zim, among many others. Others I have an interest in include (but aren't limited to) Rio, LEGO Ninjago, and Courage the Cowardly Dog, to name a few others. (I can't give away too many right now. )
If you'd like me to provide some deep dives into some animated characters I love, check out the journal links provided in the master link for my What's With? character analysis seriesmy What's With? character analysis series.

And I've dabbled in both original drawings (such as this one) and fan-fiction writing based on fandoms like these over the years. The fan-fiction I'm the proudest of having written is my Nicktoons: The Knights of Azula fan-fiction, spanning over two books.
And to finish this up, I've also been highly into the Pokémon franchise. I've been watching the anime and collecting cards beforehand, but I truly became an avid follower since I began playing the core series games during Generation IV in late 2007. While I've hit various highs and lows in my experiences in the franchise, it's been a tremendous source of fun for me. I've been able to explore various regions, meet and adore many different Pokémon, and get captivated by various characters and storylines over the course of my gaming career. Lately I've been seeking to expand my support for the franchise, starting to build a collection of sitting Pokémon plushes and a small assortment of holographic cards (both of Pokémon and characters). On my account, I have a large assortment of Pokémon I'm interested in photographed from my games for people to see. Along with the sights, I will often share some information on a given Pokémon's lore and concept elements. These have been fairly popular from what I've noticed.
My Top Five Favorite Pokémon Games.*
*Slightly outdated now. If I made this list after December of 2023, the Pokémon Scarlet bundle would rank at number two on the list.

And that sums up the highlights of what I do here on DeviantArt. Now, I know I can be a bit clingy, pushy or excessive at times, but I do mean well in what I do. I'm always looking to improve my techniques and outreach to others. I'm eager to answer any questions you may have about what I do here, and I hope to earn your appreciation (and vice versa) here as we go about our business in this community.
