Caught

A soft-spoken voice, from over my shoulder, questions intent; my heart frozen over. My eyes change their focus, the mirror unveils, a door that's ajar; the shadow assails. My heart sinks; I turn; I stammer; I plead. The flash stops my breath; my heart breaks its speed. My arms stretched out weakly, my legs fail their tasks. I sit there now trembling, I wonder; and ask. Receiving a cackle, a grin ear to ear. "I knew you were tempted; I left it" — she sneered. holding a picture, of shame; and my tears. "And now you get blackmailed; my slave; for the years."
