I suppose this photo can be considered a follow-up to this :pointr: [link]

The residents of Kamiya dojo (including the friendly neighborhood freeloader) finally get around to taking a proper portrait together. Kaoru takes extra measure to ensure that Yahiko stands still. Kenshin is grateful that he now has people to do thing like this with. Sano tries very hard to hide the fact that he's afraid of getting his picture taken, but already has one foot out to make it easier to run in case the camera really does try to steal his soul.

I recently found myself fascinated by Meiji Era photography. They look very distinct, especially the hand-colored prints that are reminiscent of ukiyo-e. This website has some excellent examples: [link] (you get a different set of photos every time you refresh the page)

Rurouni Kenshin was set in that time period, so I thought I'd try editing one of our cosplay pictures to look like a weathered monochrome print from back then. I tried to imagine a person - perhaps a distant descendant - looking around somewhere that used to be known as the Kamiya dojo, finding a memento of the people who used to call that place home.
