Description

Each of the Amesha Spentas embodies an attribute of Ahura Mazda as well as a human virtue. In ancient Zoroastrianism they were the spirits of light and were regarded as the divine aspects of Ahura Mazda. Later they became distinct deities with a personality of their own. Male Amesha Spentas rule over the elements of nature considered masculine: fire, metal and animals. While the females rule over the elements considered feminine: earth, water and vegetables.

Vohu Manah (Vohu Mano, Vohuman): means "Sound Mind, Intelligence and Good Thoughts". Guardian of plants and animals, she’s the generator of “good thoughts, good words and good deeds”, but she is given free will to choose between good and evil and the responsibility to bear the consequences of each act. She’s the Intellectual Principle, therefore the first Amesha Spenta created by Ahura Mazda.
