May 6th, 2013 - Happy Birthday, Shizune.

After playing Katawa Shoujo, I just had to come out of my extended retirement to do a new art piece. For those who haven't played it, this is Shizune Hakamichi, class president and member of the student council at Yamaku Academy, the setting of the Katawa Shoujo visual novel. She is deaf mute, one of the many love interests and potential paths that you, as the protagonist, can pursue.

Needless to say, she was my favorite character in the game. Dedicated and strong willed, she could actually be quite intimidating, but there was always a softer side underneath. I try to bring it out even further here.
