Bubbles and Boomer on NFTs by Blackrhinoranger on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Bubbles and Boomer from the Powerpuff Girls with their talks about non-fungible tokens or NFTs for short.

Based on a recent controversy that Bubbles' voice actress, Tara Strong has been involved in. (twitter.com/tarastrong/status/… )

You might not like me for saying this but I'm starting to hate Tara Strong. Not as a voice actor, she is still good at that, but as a person herself. Not just because of the NFT thing, believing the one she chose is more enviromentally friendly than charging your phone to 100 percent, her refusal to listen to legit criticism from those who are concerned about what she's doing. But also her constant tweets of shoving down PETA and veganism over people's throats and saying people are evil for drinking milk and eating meat (ironically she does voice characters who do eat meat like Timmy Turner). Now, I have tolerated her veganism since the last 2000s and that never really bothered me. But recently with these tweets, for me, I felt very offended because I have relatives who are on a carnivore diet and need to be because recently, they had an allergy which can be triggered by the slightest consumption of vegetation because they have the tiniest amount of sugar which can still cause a problem if you are sensitive. She should be respectful that other people chose these diets for various reasons. Some may not be the most healthiest but it's their choice. She should be more like Weird Al Yankovic, Dan Castellaneta and Daron Nefcy, vegetarians who don't mind a bit of meat in their works and respect other people's diets. Heck, Casey Kasem didn't enforce people to go on a vegan diet, he only enforced his character, Shaggy Rogers to be a vegetarian. While Tara is not as bad as Butch Hartman, she's becoming a lost cause, just like Butch. What she says OFFENDS me, just like what Butch Hartman says about how autism can be "cured" offends me and it's hard to forgive someone who has made that statement and be stuck up about it.

Troy Baker, who you might know as Rattle Shake and Sunburn in Skylanders, Jetfire and Zeta Prime in the Transformers War for Cybertron game, Espio in some Sonic incarnations and Batman in the Lego Batman games, was also getting into the NFT business. But he did listen to the criticism and is being more cautious about what he's doing (twitter.com/TroyBakerVA/status… ). Rob Pauslen actually stopped and listened to the fans about their concerns about NFTs before he considered supporting what Tara Strong is doing. But then Tara Strong scolded those people, claiming they bullied Rob.

Ironically a voice actor who plays a villain is acting more reasonable with this situation than a voice actress who plays a hero. At this point, I'm starting to prefer Kristen Li as Bubbles over Tara Strong and I'm starting to prefer PPG 2016 over PPG 1998. Heck, I prefer the late Mary Kay Bergman as Timmy Turner and Ashley Tisdale as Flashwing over Tara..... I kid of course. I still admire Tara as a voice actress and I've learned to seperate the art from the artist. The same case with Butch Hartman, Chris Savino, Louis C.K. Bill Cosby, John Lasseter, John Kricfalusi, Kevin Spacey and T.J. Miller. You might not like how they are as people but you can still admire their works. Sometimes, they can also provide the inspiration for not just your artistic talent but also the "I must never act like how they are as people" kind of inspiration.

This is also not meant as a slam for anyone who is a vegan. If you are a vegan, that's fine. If you are on a different diet to mine, that's fine too. But you cannot enforce people to go on a vegan diet the same way you cannot enforce people to become one religion or another. It's not how it works. See more about that, visit this picture's description: Parvana angry at both extremes

Also, keep in mind, this is what happens when you enforce veganism on either a cat or dog, animals descended from predatory animals: www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/art…

This is also making me glad that Com2Us is letting go of Skylanders: Ring of Heroes after the end of February because the Skylanders could end up becoming NFTs themselves. Let's hope Microsoft can help Acitvision Blizzard after their recent acquisition of the company (www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi… ).
