The Milkers In the course of my Navy career I have seen many strange civilizations, as an old television science fiction show from centuries ago might say, from an all-female governing council whose members are permanently sealed inside fluid-filled cylinders, to one where all women are sealed inside bubbles on or about their eighteenth birthdays, to yet another inhabited by women only, and who consider any skirt length longer than micro-mini to be indecent. Those are just a few examples among the worlds of the space republic, or among the systems with which it maintains official relations. When space travel was in its infancy, one concern was that returning travelers might bring back exotic diseases to which the inhabitants of their home worlds had never been exposed to before, and consequently had little or no immunity to.
