All We Ever Believed In - oil painting by borda on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

oil on canvas, 40x50cm

Rarely is a moment in our waking life without passing thoughts, that inner voice that we identify with, and dictates our mood and our actions. For the moment we are so absorbed in the idea, and seconds later we forgot it, being absorbed by another thought, so many times unrelated to the previous one. If we would put on paper all the thoughts we have in one day and analyze it, we would see a pattern of madness. How many of them are really worth having, and how many are worth remember, and passing to others, how many will really help future generations?
We live in symbiosis with ideas, they guide our life, but are also as a lens over our perceptions of reality, they create a paradigm, a point of view that is very difficult to change, mostly because of mass thinking, the more people are with the same believes, the less we tend to analyze the validity of that point of view, and accept it as truth. I see a paradigm as a tower we build, the higher you are, the more people put their life into sustaining that idea, the riskier is to change the point of view, and specially bring light into the other ones that are in denial.
