Murky Waters by bossturp on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

A crocodillian beast. Camouflages itself by absorbing its enviroment onto its body. This is a continuous process which expands to the whole animal's life cycle. Much like the lobster, this animal doesn't die of old age alone. But most individuals will eventually die of starvation when their bodies become too absorbed in foliage and rubble to hunt efficiently, if not from injuries.

This beast can effectively camouflage on both on land and in water. While hunting, it lays still waiting for the unsuspecting prey to come close enough for it to attack. It also has an expandable pouch under the neck, enabling it to grab larger prey and submerge them in water to drown them if its powerful jaws don't do the job alone.
