A small side-task that has been on hold while I was working on the Garden Scene....
The job here was to colour my friend 
's online manga cover sketch here...
...and yes, there was no larger lineart I could use, so in this work I made use of Inkscape primarily given it's Trace Bitmap and vector Bucket Fill tools. MyPaint wa used to help soften the features and produce the background, whereas GIMP was limited to producing the sun lighting and coloured lines.
This gives the image a bright, cheery hybrid of both vector and traditional styles that was also relatively quick to produce. This hybrid approach is also good practice for another drawing I have planned to create by month's end.
Note that none of the characters above are named, except for the multi-coloured hair girl in the middle who I suggested should be a modern schoolgirl version of Kolibri: [link]
