Russian names for le Russian bois by Carol-aredesu on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Brightman
Name: Pavel
Meaning: Pavel (Павел) in Russian means "Paul". It is a common name in Russian-speaking countries and is derived from the Latin "Paulus," which means "small" or "humble."
Reasons to choose: HE'S FOOKIN SMOL!!!
Note: Cute with his adorableness!!

Toadman
Name: Yuri
Meaning: Yuri (Юрий) in Russian is a Russian form of the name George in English and means "farmer" or "worker of the land."
Reasons to choose: Despite having a name overlap (with Gutsman being George), Yuri was one of the few names I knew the meaning of, just didn't know it was a form of the name George :v
Note: Bonus → For men, one of the most common ways to write Yuri in Japanese is "勇利," which can be translated as "brave" or "courageous." Another common way to write Yuri is "友利," which can be translated as "friend" or "companion."

Drillman
Name: Kamenniy
Meaning: The name Kamenniy (Каменный) is derived from the Russian word "kamen" (камень), which means "stone." It may have originated from a place or region with rocky characteristics, or it may have been given to someone with a strong and firm personality, associating them with the hardness and solidity of a stone.
Reasons to choose: I tried names based on gems or jewels, but no success...
Note: But Kamenniy fits him in the end.

Pharaohman
Name: Ari
Meaning: Ari (Ари) can mean "noble" or "worthy of admiration."
Reasons to choose: Kudos for Ganbare-Lucifer
Note: He is noble :3

Ringman
Name: Kazimir
Meaning: Kazimir (Казимир) is a name of Slavic origin and means "peacemaker," "one who announces peace," or "one who brings peace." It is composed of two words: "kazit" (казить), which means "to destroy" or "to disturb," and "mir" (мир), which means "peace" or "world." Together, the words form the meaning of a peacemaker or someone who restores peace and harmony wherever they go.
Reasons to choose: No reason, it was the last one I chose.
Note: In the end, Ringman name (I chose way before this ( Le Golden Ankh by Carol-aredesu) and was quite amatch to the "post-game" Ringman bg :v

Dustman
Name: Gleb
Meaning: Gleb (Глеб) is a Russian name of Slavic origin and means "earth," "ground," or "clay." The name is often associated with the idea of fertility and abundance, as the earth is a symbol of life and growth. According to some sources, the name Gleb can also be translated as "gentle" or "humble."
Reasons to choose: Gentle, one of the gentlest, although Gleb sounds like "Glup," aka "Gulp," that onomatopoeia of swallowing :v
Note: I considered for Drillman this name, but Gleb sounds more with Dustie than Drillie...

Diveman
Name: Sergey
Meaning: Sergey (Сергей) is a Russian name of Greek origin and means "guardian" or "protector." It is derived from the Greek name "Sergios" (Σέργιος), which has the same meaning.
Reasons to choose: I was going to call him Sérgio, but adapted it to the Russian version.
Note: Sérgio is a popular name here at Brazil's, just like Pedro, which I chose for Hardman, presenting the duo of sertanejo music "Sergey and Pedro" :v

Skullman
Name: Suliko
Meaning: "Suliko" (Сулико) is the title of a famous Georgian folk song. The song tells the story of a young woman named Suliko who is lamenting the loss of her beloved who has gone off to war.
Reasons to choose: In the vine version of Skullman, he was a bot similar to Rock and Roll, as he was specially created as Kalinka's brother before being converted to Skullman by Dr. Wily. His appearance in human form is based on the (HEADCANON) Mother of Kalinka, who was an albino.
Note: Suliko is somewhat of a girl's name, but the name Suliko kind of reminds me of the word "Skull"
