Freedom Planet Resurgence Completed ~ Thank You! by CCI545 on DeviantArt (original) (raw)
It's been a long ride for this series, and a rocky one. What started as an idea, turned into a comic, then transformed into what it is today. I wasn't sure if I could pull through and finish this series, after all the set backs, the delays, focusing on other things, it's finally finished.
I don't think it would have even made it this far without it's loyal fans up to this point supporting me and the continuation of the series despite it being turned into a comic script series. I had no full desire to complete the series, at the time I was realizing that I started something I didn't think I would finish, I already had Sonic Z to deal with and I was on my way to upper division college. But many of you came pushing for more after I posted FPR Issue 2 as a comic script, and even more when I put up issue 3.
2015 was also when Nadi, or as many of you know, , kinda fell off the face of the Earth and she hasn't contacted me or posted anything new here in years. It was up to make finish what we both started together. I had some help along the way during Issue 2 before the comic cancellation, I posted the page sketches in the script for those to see it. Goshaag even did a full page by himself for this comic and I can't thank him enough for doing such despite people hammering on it when it first came out over the most petty issues. I don't believe we are on good terms, along with other FP artists that you guys are familiar with, don't necessary understand why, perhaps they spread rumors about me or they just don't like how I handle situations. Couldn't tell you, and I couldn't care much anymore now.
I'd like to thank all the fans who stuck with me to the end for this comic script series, from start to finish along with the newcomers. Specifically, I wish to thank for his wisdom, advice, and support during the rough times and during the good for both my series. I want to thank for allowing me to use his character Belric for this series, he was put to good use here, even though he probably won't read the story I wanted to say my thanks still. I wish to thank Aimee Smith (Voice of Milla) for coming out of nowhere and read out Page 11 of Issue 1 in 2016, that was a nice little surprise from her (and admittedly when she first approached me about it I didn't even know it was her lol).
And finally I want to thank the GalaxyTrail Team for working their hardest to bring Freedom Planet 2 to life. If there is anyone out there that gets your struggle in game development, it's me. Being a new game developer and about to set sail into the industry this year, I understand it's a rough life and a lot of hard work, so let this be not only a thank you to everyone who helped me continue this series up to finishing it, but to you guys too for working as hard as possible on FP2! Freedom Planet 1 was a great game too, but the sequel is looking a lot better and developed, and I can't wait to play it when it comes out.
Freedom Planet Resurgence taught me a lot about creating a story, making art, and more, and although it hasn't impacted my life as greatly as Sonic the Hedgehog Z has, it will always be a part of who am I today and I will never forget that.
This will likely be my last Freedom Planet related art for a long time if not for good, so I invite fans of this series to stick around longer even though no more Freedom Planet art coming, because now I will be working solely on Sonic Z Season 4 and 5 and trying to finish 10 more comic issues. If you liked FPR a lot, you'll love Sonic Z's story as well, especially the last few seasons. Even if your not a fan of Sonic or Dragon Ball, give it a shot, it's a lot of fun and it might get you hooked into both Sonic and/or Dragon Ball.
If that isn't enough, I'm going to be a game developer which means I will be helping in making games or making my own in the future, so if you stick around you might see something you might like!
If this is where you don't wish to stay for that, then I say goodbye to those who no longer wish to follow me due to this series being finished. I know I hardly know many of you, I've been very impersonal for the past few years due to my busy schedule, but just know I valued your viewership and I hope I brought you joy and entertainment, because if I did, I did my job perfectly.
With this submitted and my Core about to expire, this marks a new age for me here... It will bring either more good or bad, but it's time for a change.
Thank you again everyone, I'm just glad this journey is done and I think Lilac is happy too, but both of us still have much more to do.
Sincerely, Derek Eaton
