Design Topic 5: Your next design topic is to create a design based on a crime scene. Inspired by the photography of Melanie Pullen. [link] Your setting is a crime scene, and your design is the victim. I want to see something creative, interesting, mysterious. Very edgy & high fashion.
Okay...so this was a hard one. To be honest, before i actually begin rolling it, I'm gonna be truthful about how i feel about this design. I think that i have slightly taken the challenge away from where it is supposed to be. Prior to that, my design is a little bit off. My view was not very well concentrated on Melanie Pullen's photographs, which should be our inspiration. But I do believe that the inspiration is shown here. That is, the concept of it. Okay, enough of how i feel. After three versions, with the opinions from some of my friends, and my boyfriend's final decision, this is my final output, and is what i will actually submit for the challenge.
What you see here is my rendition of the supposedly "victimized garment." This design simply represents torture, a kind of massacre approach. LOL. The chains, which are what I especially love about the design, show the victimization of the dress, where, as you can see, the cloths are held by them. The few holes of the design (e.g. the right shoulder) also emphasizes this where as if they've been torn and ripped with a knife par example! lol...that's french...also, the inconsistent cuts ultimately emphasizes the victimization! Basically the inconsistent cuts represent mutilation! Now, the head dress. The reason why i chose to put the head dress is to depict suffucation! The white color-choice is to represent the innocence, and the blood splatter has definitely ruined that innocence. Why did I put blood splatters (which would be just ink if made)? Well...i don't really know...why? The boots and the pair of gloves...which i can never miss when i make my designs (sometimes)...are the icings of the cake that add fierce glamour elegance, and...well...to add a touch, a great touch of high fashion!!!
The over-all color: I chose this color to emphasize, once again, the victimization of the dress...a dress gone ruined...basically mutilated, tortured, masscred...the original color of it was maroon-ish....

Judges' Comments:
"ceazar did great. It was definatly an ambitious design and it was modern fab, yet scary! The headdress was unusual...and I didn't really get it. The chains looked like they would be noisey, and you could have eaisily substituted it for some braided fabric...although it wouldn't have given you the same effect. I'm glad that he used jersey, a different fabric and leather. His signature gloves came back and it was a wonderful addition to the listing of entries."

P.S. It looks more of a corpse or dead carcass to me...which is well-suited to the topic, as far as I'm concerned!!!
