I did this for a contest last year on the French Pokemon website Pokébip. We had to draw an alternative version of an existing pokemon from the two first generations, or to invent a new pokemon linked to (an evolution, an alternative evolution line, a pre-evolution...) the ones already existing in these generations. Because unknown pokemons from the beta of Gold and Silver versions had been released at the time, the concept is similar : imagining how would have possibly been the first generations.

So I always got bothered by the fact that, even though its evolution line aren't insects, Pupitar was a chrysalis... They're rock reptiles ! So, here is a 'Pupitar' between Larvitar and Tyranitar ^^

Name :
English : Ragitar (rage + -itar suffix)
Japanese : イカギラス Ikagiras (怒り ikari (wrath) + -giras suffix (Larvitar and Tyranitar are called Yôgiras and Bangiras, -giras probably comes from 嫌い kirai (to hate))) / ボウギラス Bougiras (暴 bou (violence) + -giras suffix)
French : Déchirex (déchirer (to tear) + rex (as in tyrannosaurus rex) or silex (as in Embrylex (Larvitar) (embryon (embryo) + silex (flint))) / Répulsaure (répulsion (repulsion, as Pupitar's French name is Ymphect and comes from nymphe (nymph) and infect (disgusting)) + dinosaure (dinosaur))
Type : Rock/Dark
Abilities : Guts / Sand Stream (hidden ability) (since Shed Skin wouldn't be really accurate anymore)
Its height and weight are the same than the usual Pupitar, 1,2m and 152kg.

I just choose English and Japanese names, so if you have better options, feel free to say it ^^ Especially in Japanese, if you have a word ending with "gi" so it can go along with the -giras suffix... Same for the abilities, if you have better ideas ^^
About the French names, I asked people if they had ideas and someone said Répulsaure so I gave it in the contest, but I had forgotten that earlier I had thought of Déchirex... ^^' So both are good ^^

I'll maybe post later some other concepts I did for this contest, but not all of them because I may use it for future fakemon contests.
