I recently bought Manga Studio 5 and, while playing around with it, I created this character. I wanted to draw something with a Golden Age feel, so I went with a green and purple color scheme. It seemed like he needed "Crusader" as part of his name (I think it had to do with the shield on his chest), so I decided on The Black Crusader.

Yeah, I know, he doesn't have any black in his costume, but that's exactly why I thought that was very Golden Age-like name (sort of like the purple and yellow Black Hood or Green Lantern who was dressed mostly in red and purple).

After a Google search, I discovered that there is a public domain Golden Age hero named "Black Crusader", but I couldn't find out anything about him, not even a picture. So, while not intended as a redesign, I suppose you could view it as one if you want.
