Description

I was always the little kid who would absolutely bawl whenever I accidentally let go of my balloons after a party. I couldn't stand the thought of them floating off into the sky without me. My parents would always console me, telling me that they were free now, and that we should be happy for them.

Whenever I see a stray balloon bobbing along high above, I can't help but smile. I hoped to capture both feelings in this picture. Both the distress and sadness of seeing them leave, but also the sheer joy in being airborne.
