Niels Juel is an old soldier pushing a few decades and then some, though his appearance says otherwise.

His early years can be traced back to the midst of World War I, where he was mainly stationed at Copenhagen, since Danskjord was having trouble finding the 305mm rifles he was supposed to be armed with, and were not keen on going to war. Around this time, Niels Juel signed up for the King's Guard, mainly for the prestige.

A bored Niels Juel quickly gained a reputation as a mischevious troublemaker, pulling pranks on unsuspecting cadets and instructors alike.

A dishonorable discharge was inevitable, but some sweet-talking from the Navy made the Head of the King's Guard re-consider.

Niels Juel was later honorably discharged, and re-entered service into the Royal Danskjord Navy.

The light cruiser seemed to have cleaned up his act for diplomatic visits and training cruises, but sometimes the roguery of his youth would rear its head on his crew.

However, Niels Juel eventually understood the burden of his position and with Thedereich approaching Scandinavia, the possibility of war gripped him.

The Kingdom of Danskjord was initially unready for war, and their hesitance would cost them dearly. The small kingdom fell into the Thedereich's clutches within a mere six hours, despite Niels Juel and the rest of the King's Guard fiercely defending Copenhagen.

But all was not lost, as Dansk locals secretly helped the Allies or provided their own brand of civil disobiedience.

For two years, Niels Juel was disarmed, left to stew in prison with his own guilt and rage towards the Thedereich, until his captain broke him out.

As the new martial law the Thedereich imposed on Danskjord began to take effect, Niels Juel and his crew attempted to flee towards Nordrike.

At first, it seemed the plan to establishing a Dansk resistance in Nordrike was coming to fruition, but a fatal hit from an airstrike forced the light cruiser to beach himself.

Niels Juel was eventually dragged back to the Thedereich, renamed to Nordland, and served as a training ship for their navy until the war ended.

The Panzermarine's blood was pretty much boiling at the fact he had to train the very people who violated his homeland, but he kept his cool (sometimes).

After Danskjord retook control of the mainland, Niels Juel couldn't be happier and excitedly ran back to them.

While his ship was too damaged and outdated to serve the Royal Danskjorder Navy anymore, the Panzermarine himself served for seven years in the King's Guard before retiring.

To Niels Juel, he had lived a life fulfilled, and was content to continue his days peacefully somewhere in Copenhagen.

But this would not last.

Several decades later, Niels Juel was re-armed, in response to the increasing amount of Minati attacks around Scandinavia.

Though he might possibly the same silly boy at heart, Niels Juel is first and foremost a soldier, and he takes his duty with utmost seriousness.
