Description

LMS 8F 2.8.0 number 48305 was one of the more iconic engines to have resided in Barry Island scrapyard. She was withdrawn just 7 months before the end of steam on BR, and arrived at Barry soon afterwards. During her time at Barry, she had the words "Please don't let me die" along with a crying face applied to her smokebox as seen here. In 1985 however she was purchased for preservation, and now resides at the GCR.
