Frankenstein: 'May the darkness set us free ...' by CobaltSunrise on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

'He lifted Frankenstein into his arms as if he were his child and carried him off, disapearing into the ice and darkness ... forever.'

Captain Robert Walton

Well would you look at that! More Frankenstein musical stuff! Someone help me

Haven't done a large-scale drawing like this in a while, plus it was nice to get some good ol' fashionned inking done.

Anyway, I quite like the way the musical changes the ending a bit.

In the book, Victor dies before any reconcilliation can be made, and although, yes, it's more thematically in-line with the overall story,

it's nice for Victor and the Creature to get at least some closure (plus I mean, this IS a musical, the audience wants closure too).

It's tragic, it's got impact, and boy oh boy, is that some powerful imagerie. 10/10
