Thank you for posting this outstanding photo of the one and only CT #80. I have an MTH model of this very engine as you can see on my site. The GN electric locomotive that was converted over for the Turbine unit was class W-1 and there were three of them purchased by the GN.

The CT developed an enormous amount of power to drive the traction motors but I believe it suffered too

many mechanical breakdowns to be deemed as reliable, I'll have to check. My favorite is the 8500 hp gas turbine, the "big blow!" with jet engines in both locomotives you can bet they had to run in restrictive areas because of the noise factor!
