This girl right here is an OC of mine, Astra, a 9-year old astronaut girl. Although she is a human, she wasn’t born on Earth. And right now, she’s on a mission to look for extraterrestrial life on a planet she hasn’t set foot on before.

The background is somewhat inspired by Maurice Noble (particularly his background work on Duck Dodgers in the 24 ½th Century). I also tried to add some elements of Mary Blair’s style in this artwork, particularly with the color choices and the gouache-style shading.
