The last time I tried to draw Sonic (not counting Nyu's meme) was in the mid nineties, so it was hard for me to draw this modern version. Ultimately the best reference I could find is from the cartoon show, or so I'm told, and I had to follow it pretty closely.

Sonic's head looks good on other character's bodies, but other character's heads don't look good on Sonic... too bad.

I drew the lineart for Sonic and a few other characters with my tablet, but then I lost my pen so I had to color him with the trackpad on my laptop... T_T Polygonal lasso helped a bunch, but it still was ARGH!
