It’s time for another of my weird timewasters, this time I’ll be doing the most critically acclaimed, beloved, fan favorite, the best in the franchise, it’s in such high place that no other Pretty Cure season will ever beat it of being the best Pretty Cure season, Happiness

Charge, without further ado, here’s what I did to the masterpiece that is Happiness Charge:

Megumi-> Carwen Davies/Cure Lovely

Carwen means blessed so it has the same meaning as Megumi, now it may seem I went with a common surname but Davies does mean beloved, I thought it would go great with her being another love powered Pretty Cure.

Hime-> Himelda “Hilda” Whitesnow/Cure Princess

With Himelda being her princess name, it wasn’t very hard to figure out a name for her human alias, Hilda, for her surname, I just translated what Shirayuki means in English.

Yuko-> Candy Dubois/Cure Honey

I mean her entire character is that she loves food, so of course I had to go with a food related name, for her surname I went with the french Dubois which means from the forrest and this 森 kanji in her surname means forrest, it’s not a perfect match but it’s close enough.

Iona Glacier/Cure Fortune

Iona is already a name of western origins, so I just have to figure out a surname, Hikawa means glacier and it turns out Glacier is an actual surname, that was pretty easy to figure out.

Seiji-> Sergio Sandoval

With how many red-hoodie wearing latino boy characters there are, I just thought it would be fun if we added another red-hoodie latino boy to the list.

Glasan-> Shades

Idk, I thought it would sound kooler to american kids.

Now let’s go over the villains that have non-english names, I had a lot of fun figuring out names that would go with their characters:

Namakelder-> Lazy Lazarus

Hosshiwa-> Ms. Wanda Want

Oresky-> Sarge Selfon

Here’s what came up with for the minor and supporting cast

Ohana/Cure Sunset and Olina/Cure Wave-> Leilani/Cure Sunset

I’ve gave Ohana a different hawaian name to avoid sounding stereotypical, apparently Ohana isn’t actually a name hawaians give to their girls.

Eri, Hiro, and Mao->Ellie, Hiro, and Vera

Izumi-> Ms. Fountain

Ai-> Amanda Dubois

Miyo-> Mia Scoop

Rei, Kana, Elena and Rin-> Rei, Kara, Elena and Rin

Kazumi-> Misty

Hitomi-> Harmony

Kenta-> Ken

Sachiyo and Daisuke-> Felicia and Ezra

Yuya-> Cody

Mami-> Mary

With Happiness Charge being one the most controversial seasons, I don’t see it coming, due to two main factors:

The international Cures skin tones problem could be solved if Toei was okay with editing the footage to give them more accurate skin tones, but it can be a very time consuming and expensive process that might not be worth the money. Such a shame such a cool concept was wanted on one of the worst seasons, hopefully Toei revisits the concept with decent writers and character designs that actually look like the people from whichever country they represent.

There’s a reason I’ve been avoiding talking about Blue until now, he is one the most unlikable Pretty Cure allies, he pretty much caused all the events of Happiness Charge, is the blame of the creation of the Phantom Empire, he’s a god-like deity and he goes around asking immature teenage girls to be the protectors of the earth rather than people who are trained to attack such a threat, and his rule of “Pretty Cures can’t fall in love” doesn’t make sense once you look at franchise as whole, THEN DON’T MAKE YOUR EARTH SAVING WARRIORS TEENAGE GIRLS, so much that I’m surprised a group of producers had to give the green light to such an incompentent character, not alone making him a good guy.

You have to rewrite the entire season if you want people over here to watch it since he is one of the main characters, it’s always a controversial choice, but his character is so bad that it's a much better option than being faithful, if this was the case, I’ll also have the original subbed version available to watch too.

And Happiness Charge doesn’t have the good animation like other seasons outside of some fights here and there.

Now here’s my opinion that would get me lynched, I kinda wish this season got the Glitter Force treatment, Glitter Force comedic tone would have gone perfectly with Happiness Charge mind boggling rules and plot, I really wanted to laugh along what kinda jokes they would make about Blue’s “PrEtTy CuReS CaN’t FaLl In LoVe” nonsense rule or the weird love triangle that lasted nothing, but alas wishes are just wishes.

But in all seriousness this is a straightforward no, it would be much easier and better to go with a safer option like Go Princess, Witchy or Kirakira than spend money on a project and editing it to make it more watcha- I mean marketable.
