Leatherhead

Species: Mutant alligator

Leatherhead started out as a lone young alligator in the bayou of Louisiana who was then discovered by the Utrom traitor, Krang. Krang took the little gator and brought it with him to Dimension X where he performed painful experiments on the reptile, making Leatherhead grow into a large humanoid mutant gator. The mutation increased Leatherhead's intelligence, making him able to speak like a human as well as be very smart. However, Leatherhead obtains unstable emotions as he could switch from a smart and sensible mutant to a raging uncontrollable beast when provoked or angered. Krang constantly tried to tame the mutated Leatherhead, going so far as forcing him into fights with bigger and meaner alien monsters of Dimension X and torturing him by electrocuting him with an electric prong while chained up. But Leatherhead managed to break free from his captor, Krang, and escaped Dimension X through a portal which transported him to New York where he hid in the sewers for a number of years until meeting the Turtles and becoming acquainted with them as a reptilian ally despite their rough start.

Abilities: Super strength, high intelligence, strong jaws and sharp teeth
