It's been so long since I've done anything extensive for Sonic Expanse, so it was a thrill getting to be able to draw these old characters of mine that I haven't drawn in years (and in most cases, only drew once at all). I've started picking up my stride in terms of drawing and having a style that is comfortable to me. So, I decided to utilize it by experimenting drawing a whole bunch of my characters en masse, with the intention of, when it's all done, every one of my characters I've created for Sonic Expanse will have a recent update.

I started drawing characters in no particular order when I started, but I found that of ones that I sketched out a large majority of them were actually siblings of canon characters, so I put aside the rest of the sketches I had done and focused on just this particular set of characters. When I gathered them all, I found that I had twelve in total that are siblings of characters, and this accidentally led me to forming Hero Teams of them, haha!

A good chunk of these characters are ones I've drawn and detailed out in my gallery within the past decade, while four of them are, while they have been conceptualized for a long time, I've never really created a detailed summary piece of them. Those characters being: Pyrite (Silver's brother), Monette (Ray's sister), Dexter (Sticks' brother) and Wichama (Tikal's brother). Three of them can be seen in an old sketch dump I posted a few years back (miscellaneous character sketch dump by Cylent-Nite on DeviantArt), while Monette I've just recently posted up the old piece and placed in Scraps, so do check that out!

As I mentioned, most of these I have detailed a bit in the past deviations which I'll link all below, but for the sake of this new piece and for my newer watchers who aren't familiar with my Expanse history, I'll jot down new profiles for them here. Time to crack my knuckles!

TEAM CHASER:

Mail the Popful Species: Hedgehog
Age: 11
Likes: Storybooks, King Arthur, Swords
Dislikes: Being left behind
Bio: The younger sister of the famed hero, Sonic the Hedgehog. Mail grew up on Christmas Island envious of her older brother being free to roam around and adventure. To make up for this she spent much of her childhood reading books and admiring heroes from old tales, her most favourite being Arthur of the Knights of the Round Table. She played a lot with a toy replica of Caliburn, finding she is quite proficient in swordsmanship. One day she decides she can't take it anymore and sneaks on-board her father's plane during one of his delivery runs. From there on she was finally free and begins her own adventure.

Taurus the Diodon aka "Black Bull" Species: Black Arms-Porcupinefish
Age: Unknown
Likes: Relaxing, Taking baths, Freedom
Dislikes: Feeling stressed
Bio: The second-born son created by Black Doom in his attempt to recreate the process used to create Shadow the Hedgehog, but ultimately without the keen intellect of his former collaborator, Gerald Robotnik. This resulted in a flawed specimen, that, while still extremely powerful, is also incredibly unstable. During the Black Arms assault on Earth, Taurus, known then by his father as "Black Bull", would be placed on the frontlines as a weapon against his older brother, unbeknownst to Shadow of their relationship. After Black Doom's defeat and the dissipation of the Black Arms, Taurus is finally free to live for himself.

Pyrite aka "Operation Goldrush" Species: Robot-Hedgehog
Age: 0 (Created 200 years in the future)
Likes: None
Dislikes: Iblis(?)
Bio: A machine lifeform designed and created by future soldier, Aurum the Mink. "Operation Goldrush" is a terraforming robot created to utilize electromagnetic waves to dismantle and alter terrain in the Iblis-torn future, its role is to clear paths and create safe spaces for wandering survivors to reside in until Iblis' next appearance. Aurum modelled Pyrite's physical likeness on his son, Gold, the brother of Silver, who lost his life to Iblis many years prior. Gold had high expectations placed on him as a child, as he bore a resemblance to the "golden hero" who appeared many times in the past 200 years ago.

TEAM PACIFY:

Candace the Mongoose Species: Mongoose
Age: 16
Likes: Studying, Her family
Dislikes: Being dragged around
Bio: The twin sister of famed fashion designer, Honey the Cat. Unlike her sister's outgoing nature, Candace is a lot more reserved, and would prefer spending her time studying and learning things rather than being out in the world. She spends her free time outside of school helping at her mother's clinic and studying martial arts under her father. Every now and again, her sister would force her to follow along with her whims, whether it be competing in fighting tournaments, or being used as a guinea pig in her fashion experiments. Candace would much rather live a life of quiet simplicity.

Berry the Duck Species: Duck
Age: 17
Likes: Fireworks, Cooking, Food
Dislikes: Cleaning up after her family's fights
Bio: A fireworks operator from Chun-nan, she is the only daughter of Bin the Duck, and older sister of Bean the Dynamite. Her father and uncle have a long history of street brawling, leaving a trail of defeated bodies in their wake. Unfortunately, her younger brother has even started to take after them, getting involved in fighting tournaments and even going down the path of a hooligan. Berry is often left to clean up after them, whether it's tending to wounds or apologizing profusely for her family's behaviour. Berry loves the thrill of lighting fireworks and spends her extra time working at a nearby restaurant.

Branch the Sledger Species: Polar Bear
Age: 10
Likes: Sledding, Her brother
Dislikes: Delivering mail
Bio: Branch is a young polar bear living in Holoska and serving a part-time job as a mail carrier. One of her biggest dreams is to one day travel to Monopole and become an Extreme Gear rider. While she's working, she has a tendency to goof off on the job, lost in her daydreams and imitating the Extreme Gear races she sees on TV by standing atop her sled down snowy slopes. This has gotten her in trouble many times and she wishes her brother would come back home so he can take her with him on one of his travels. Her best friend is a neighbouring Walrus named Boo-Marra, and she would often drag him along with her hijinks.

TEAM ALLSTAR:

Monette the Squirrel Species: Squirrel
Age: 15
Likes: Running, Races, Formerly Sonic the Hedgehog
Dislikes: Remembering her past self
Bio: The twin sister of Ray the Flying Squirrel, and formerly a Sonic the Hedgehog superfan. Monette in her younger days would be absolutely obsessed with the blue blur, collecting all his merchandising, and even going as far as to call herself "Sonette" to be more like him. As a result of her addiction, she would also love to run just like him, finding quite a penchant for athletics. As she grew older, while her interest in Sonic dissipated, her love for running stayed and kept getting stronger. She attends an academy in Soleanna where her mother lives and would take part in many sports meets.

Dexter Stones
Species: Badger
Age: 18
Likes: Boxing, Exercising, Boxercising
Dislikes: Not working out
Bio: The older brother of Sticks the Badger, and a reputable Boxercising instructor. Similar to his younger sister, Dexter possesses a wild streak, being a notable figure in the brawling circuit. Outside of prize fights, Dexter has a passion for exercising, being the founder of a new routine that combines his two favourite things, Boxing and Exercising to make Boxercising! While not quite a popular success yet, he's holding out hope that one day his routine videos will sell like hotcakes. His sister's friend, Amy Rose has taken an interest in his workout routine and would often ask for advice whenever she gets the chance.

Rogue the Mouse
Species: Mouse
Age: 13
Likes: Tennis, Tennis, Tennis
Dislikes: Not tennis
Bio: The younger half-brother of super spy, Rouge the Bat. Rogue has a great love for tennis and would spend every minute of his free time playing or honing his skills. His biggest rival so far has been a pink Hedgehog who doesn't really have much of an interest in the sport itself, but showed great aptitude for it the first time she played, seemingly to try to show off to a boy she was interested in. Despite her lack of interest, Rogue aims to better himself so that he can one day challenge her to a tennis duel to prove he has no equal!

TEAM VENOM:

Lucent the Echidna
Species: Echidna
Age: Secret
Likes: Wichama, Warfare
Dislikes: Her sister
Bio: The older half-sister of Shade the Echidna and former member of the Nocturnus Clan after its dissolution. 4,000 years ago, when the Knuckles Tribe and Nocturnus Clan were at peace, she had a secret fling with the then-heir of the Knuckles Tribe, Wichama the Echidna. After the segregation between the Tribes and the Nocturnus' eventual sweeping away into the Twilight Cage, Lucent has been operating as a field soldier for the Clan, opting for the frontline of combat. He has a deep envy toward her younger sister, who despite the large age difference between them, has become the leader's right-hand.

Wichama the Echidna
Species: Ghost-Echidna
Age: 4,000+
Likes: Power
Dislikes: Strict systems
Bio: The first-born son of Pachacamac and Alucion who died just before Tikal was born. During an era of peace between the Echidna Tribes, Wichama was the heir of the Knuckles Tribe and set to become the new head in the coming future. In the meantime, he plays his role as Guardian of the Emerald Shrine in place of his sickly grandmother. After a serious breach of his role and desecrating the sanctity of the Shrine, Wichama was stripped of his title and exiled from the Tribe, his Guardian Crest being slashed and scarred across his chest. Deserters from both Tribes follow him after his exile, forming the Wechnia Tribe.

Znero aka "Dr. Warpnik" aka "Warren Robotnik"
Species: Zeti, Formerly Human
Age: 70+
Likes: Fish
Dislikes: Being called a loony
Bio: Gerald Robotnik's oldest grandson and the older brother of Maria who tragically passed due to NIDs. Due to his body's genetic mutation and further experiments from the DBR Corporation, Warren's body has been brought to life in the form of a Zeti. As a result of the illness and transformation, Znero is on the brink of insanity and can't tell left from right. Despite lacking memories of his childhood and of his younger sister, Maria, Znero is particularly drawn to Shadow the Hedgehog, finding some familiarity in his very presence.
