"We need to keep moving.", Shank said, more to himself than anypony else.

"Just one more minute..."

"I said..." Shank turned around, "...what the..."

"Isn't it amazing!?" Vignette beamed at him.

"No, it's not. Now get off your flank and get a move on!"

"Have you any idea what that is?!"

"It's a pile of scrap and some half empty spark batteries, that's what it is.
Now you either pack them or leave them, but get moving or...", Shank growled.

"How about you work on your aggressive attitude a bit? It's not like threatening your
only ally is going to get you anywhere...", Vignette reasoned with Shank.

"Besides, this bot is in remarkable condition. With some copper wire, a bit of duct tape and
maybe two or three spark batteries I could maybe even get it running again!"

Vignette was visibly excited about his find, though Shank didn't exactly share his enthusiasm.

"Did you ever have the misfortune to fight one of those things?", Shank said levelly.

"Well, not exactly..."

"Does disembowelment, being roasted alive or melting by arcane energy sound fun?"

"Of course not, but we need to seize this opportunity! I can reprogramm his FFI and..."

"What the buck is a FFI?"

"It's the friend-foe-identifier, of course..."

"Then bloody say so, egghead..."

"Anyway, I can make this murderous machine of death fight for us! Probably."

"What do you mean with 'probably'?"

"Well, if the circuits burn through again, it might...want to murder us like Zebras.", Vignette said meekly.

"I'm going to make a wild guess at who will have to scrap that bastard then. Oh, it's probably me."

Vignette looked him in the eyes.

"Just give me a try, okay? See it this way: If things should turn south, you are prepared for it, and besides, I'm pretty sure you could
take this bot down with ease."

"I'm not concerned about scrapping that thing. I'm concerned about the 3rd degree plasma burns and 4 inch deep cuts from that sawblade..."

Vignette smiled at him.

"Hey, I'm an ace medic. What could possibly go wrong?"
