This was taken in the hallway as they were passing by during the costume contest at Orycon 36 in Portland, Oregon 2014.

I had set up my portable lights at the 2014 there and here is some of the results of the interesting people willing to pose for us in there in costumes, like it was Halloween all over again. Many of which were just hanging out waiting to get to see the costume contest. A few of them entered the costume contest to show off their creativity. If you can identify who they are pretending to be you are a true geek yourself.

For lighting I was using an AlienBee 800 on slave to the right, so other shooters could trigger it as well to help with their built in flash, but they could not seem to get it to work right with their Canon cameras. I also had an Einstein 640 off to the left controlled with my Cyber Commander. They were powered with a Paul Buff's Vagabond lithium battery pack, which did last for over 1,000 flashes on a single charge with the modeling lamps turned off. The strobes were pointed away from the subjects into silver reflective umbrellas on the left and right with me shooting in between them.

If you want to download the full resolution image file you will see how clear and sharp these images are at full resolution with no visible camera noise with my Nikon D810 with a 28mm - 300mm lens shot at 100mm, 1/160, f/14. Very little processing was needed on these images.
