Description

The requirement for a replacement for the M109 self-propelled and M114 towed 155mm artillery led to a brief competition in 2022. The Swedish Archer artillery system was declared the winner, with 40 systems ordered. Although the French CAESAR and German AGM had also been considered, Archer was offered at a lower overall cost.
