Cooking Papa by deaddays on DeviantArt (original) (raw)

Hey everyone!
I'm back from my trip to Denver (cool city by the by) and, while it's been available on the DEAD DAYS site since Monday, I'm posting the new strip here in my hometown of DA too. Naturally.

I wrote this at my mother-in-law's house after home cooked meal. It was delicious and made me realize that the closest I come to actually "cooking" is sauteing vegetable stir-fry from Trader Joes. And the only reason I even do THAT is because I live with a woman. The only time I really ever rolled up my sleeves and made something from scratch was when that show "Hell's Kitchen" first came out (a horrible reality show about cooking for those of you in other countries who probably have television programming that doesn't always appeal to the lowest common denominator) and my friends and I would get together and have cook-offs. Otherwise, I'm as clueless as these two, for realz.

I'm only home for 2 days then I'm off on another trip to Chicago for my big sis's wedding. As I mentioned before, while I don't have new strip ready for this week, one of my very best internet buddies Eli Parker (of Tall Comics) will be doing a DEAD DAYS GUEST STRIP on DEADDAYS.net! The guy is thee man, so be sure to go check THAT out.

So whether you're one of those in that "subculture" he's talking about who love to cook, or are like my buddy Eric who just can't understand why someone would spend so much time on something they're just going to eat in minutes, enjoy the new strip and thanks for reading! Later.
