Well, I haven't been on here in a while and certainly haven't posted anything on here in even longer. But I recently got into book binding and used my Naruto fanfic "Décalcomanie" as test subject number one, which meant I needed more art for it.
So this little thing came to life, featuring Deidara and my OC Mizuiro (and the outside of the bar that's featured in the story a few times). It's not an actual scene from the story but something I had in mind as a potential cover for a long time. And despite not drawing much these past years I am still quite happy with how it turned out.
Décalcomanie is a partially canon divergent AU in the sense that it plays out a version of "What if Deidara was never on board with being part of Akatsuki and instead handed himself over as a prisoner to Gaara instead of capturing him?" while still featuring some main plot points of Shippuden (mostly the attack on Konoha and the war) but not getting heavily involved in them. Mostly it focuses on Mizuiro's life and the story between Deidara and her. If that sounds interesting to you, feel free to check it out!

The former Akatsuki member, no, Deidara — he has a name and now that Mizuiro knows so much about the why's and how's it's not fair to leave him nameless — freezes up, the air of tense disinterest leaving him. It's a shocking change and his voice is ice cold when he answers: “What about him?”
“He was the reason you joined Akatsuki.”
“Don't make it sound like I wanted to join them. They forced me to.”
