My brother decided to start watching the anime Death Note again, and what can I say, it brought back memories. I was quite the anime nerd a few years ago until I lost nearly all interest upon my return of cartooning and a stronger love for metal. This is quite the manga too, it has such an interesting and deep plot. Not like one of those crappy ones with the character being the almighty chosen one that has to save the world or whatever. I thought I may as well draw some fan art for this thing one last time, you know?

I decided to draw Ryuk, but I didn't just want to draw him exactly as he normally is. I wanted to make him more.... metal. He already dresses pretty hardcore so I just zazzed it up a bit. I listened to Disturbed's "The Lost Children" album and the Queen of the Damned soundtrack for inspiration for his colour scheme, because I couldn't remember. Too lazy to look it up. And yes, I gave him a bass with a scythe on the top, because he's a death god. And it looks bad ass. I think it's too short though.

I messed up on a few parts, such as his head is too wide, his ear is too high, and the bass' body is slanted slightly, but it doesn't look half bad. I could've added more studs n' shit but this'll do. The colouring is half assed because I've been studying for finals and a Provincial. Love you school. So much.
