Description

Joanna stepped out of the Watchman's office into the beaming sunlight, gleefully staring down at the hefty bag of coin in her hand. 'A whole sovereign for each Minotaur slain... I'm rich!' She had been surprised that the watch commander had enough money to pay her. Not a bad day for the daughter of a humble Cooper.

She paused to admire the claymore in her hand with pride. Her long hours of toil with forge and anvil had crafted the magnificent weapon that let her strike down the hulking beasts with contemptuous ease. As she cleft the mindless, frenzied monsters apart, the claymore had become an extension of her will. Perhaps if the other brave souls who had delved into Gore-Beast chasm over the years had been similarly equipped then maybe fewer would have died. Still, for now the township was safe and its people could rest easy for a while.

With a grin, she glanced around town square, spotted the tavern, and set off to drink her fill...

So I've been working on this for a while and it's taken me a lot longer than I anticipated... even by my own slow standards. Inspired by the request I got way back in March/April from I had to restart this when my HDD failed. Still, I'm pretty happy with how it came out. It's not perfect but hey. Anyway, hope you like it, I'll probably submit a coloured & shaded version separately, but as I haven't posted any stuff for a while I really wanted to put something up.
