Arina Arctica was a container ship owned by the Royal Arctic Line, which is the state owned shipping company of the government of Greenland. It has a monopoly on almost all traditional shipping traffic in and out of Greenland at its thirteen biggest and most navigable harbors. Being one of its smaller container ships, Arina Arctica was typical of the ships it has operated in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. She was built for Royal Arctic at the Ørskov Christensens Staalskilvaerft A/S shipyard in 1984 as Nuka Ittuk and home ported at Aalborg. She was 110 meters long, has a beam of 21.85 meters, weighs in at 4330 DWT, and had a current rated cargo capacity of only 100 TEUs or so (20-ft standard shipping containers) after her 1994 conversion. Ever since entering Royal Arctic service she was used mainly for shuttling cargoes to and from Greenland's own port cities as needed. She was an Ice type vessel with the highest CAC rating possible -- built with a double hull, internal reinforcing, and an icebreaker bow to deal with the extraordinary issues of operating in Greenland's harsh climate. She was originally built as a general purpose cargo ship, but was converted into a bulk container ship in 1994 to better fit Royal Arctic's shipping needs, and her name was changed to Arina Artica upon her returning to service in 1995. She was taken out of service in 2018, most likely due to age, and her name was changed again to Ina at that time_. Arina Arctica_ is no longer listed on Royal Arctic's shipping schedule, and at last report the deactivated vessel was moored at Kattegat awaiting future disposal. She was supposed to be replaced in service by a brand new B203 type 108 TEU container ship to be built by Remonatowna Shipbuilding SA of Poland. This is a straight port with no changes by me.

This is not my model. All I did was port it to OBJ for you. Please credit Henrik Nielsen as the original creator if you use this in any of your own 3D projects. You do not have to credit me for my part.

For non-profit, non-commercial use only.

ASIDE - It is my understanding from the original README file that Mr. Nielsen does not object to you either making your own custom textures for his model or modding the model itself for whatever reason, so long as he is given credit for the original. Please post a link in the Comments below if you do, so you can share your work with the rest of us. Thank you.

NOTE - This is for any of you who might need a small modern container ship specifically built for operating in Arctic and Antarctic climates.
