From 2001 to 2004, Cartoon Network aired a show called Samurai Jack.  The story followed a young samurai tasked with destroying a shape shifting demon sorcerer known as Aku, who had been defeated and sealed away years earlier by his father.  To do this, the samurai trained for years to gain the right to wield his father's magic sword, which was the only known weapon that could kill Aku.  The samurai battled Aku until the demon was on his last legs, but before he could finish him off, Aku opened a portal in time and sent the samurai into the far future, where Aku had effectively taken over the world.  Upon arriving, the samurai takes the name,
