To hear Wyatt tell it, Doc Holliday had never been drunk in his life. Of course, Wyatt Earp’s definition of “drunk” was slightly different from the normal one. To Wyatt, drunk was talking too much, laughing too loudly, and being carried home to wake up the next morning feeling like death. None of those qualifications applied to Doc, since his damn mouth was never closed anyway, he never laughed, he had to be carried home most nights as it was, and felt like death no matter what time of the day it was. According to Wyatt’s logic, Doc Holliday was the most sober man alive. It was true that the more Doc drank, the more s
