I just realized something: Because Shimo's presence alone freezes entire bodies of water (as we saw in the movie), if she ever wanted to cross continents without using Hollow Earth vortexes, she could literally just walk across the ocean. Granted she likely wouldn't freeze the entire ocean, but her presence will freeze the surrounding waters, creating an ice bridge in the middle of the ocean for her to walk on.
