A mysterious new legend has begun to spread in the Johto region, where a "Living Shadow" follows the Legendary Pokemon Ho-Oh and the trails of rainbows it leaves behind. Ecruteak City's Gym Leader, Morty, has started to research this and is looking through the text found in Bell Tower. Reports state that legend can also be found in the Alola region, calling the dark figure in the legend "Marshadow." Their version of the legend states that Ho-Oh brought a rainbow to Alola after a great and tragic war to help heal the hearts of the people and Pokemon, and the shadow that the rainbow casted rose from the ground and became a Pokemon known for absorbing the dread and pain of others, feeding off of their shadows to grow stronger.
